Making old out of new
Some people like to have a truly "alpine-style" holiday with the simple flair of an alpine lodge and tranquility. Others prefer the romantic touch of an alpine lodge coupled with all home comforts.
Spurred by the idea that nothing is imposible, the Munich hotel investor has fulfilled this somewhat wayward dream of a perfect alpine meadow: In December the »Schiefe Alm« on the Stubnerkogel opened its doors.
In a construction time of just six months, an alpine meadow has been created; from the outside, this construction appears anything but new, however. Ancient wood has been used, gathered together from demolished huts in the region. Hallmark is the leaning tower with its bay windows, weathered by the passage of time.
Inside the »Schiefen Alm« you then make the surprising discovery of state of the art furnishings and amenities - everything from eight luxury apartments to sauna and internet, all in a cosy traditional atmosphere with a truly nostalgic flavour of a weathered hill farm.
The »Schiefe Alm« is accessible in winter via the private chair lift, and in summer via the private road.
